GCI dispatches interpreters, free of charge, to foreign residents, returnees, and other people who need Japanese language assistance in ordinary day-to-day situations.
Translation and Interpretation Program ;TIP
When an interpreter is requested from a client, the person in charge of dispatching interpreters will confirm the details of the request and after adjusting interpreter schedules, send an interpreter of the required language to the location in need.
Areas of assistance
・Legal: local government offices, immigration bureau, police office, courts
・Health and welfare: hospitals, nursing homes, welfare offices, training centers
・Education and raising children: schools, nursery school / day care, health centers
・Emergency relief: shelters, disaster support centers, adjacent areas
・Work / Labor: job search, starting a job, back payments, terminations
Who can use the service
・Foreign residents and returnees living in Japan
・Japanese people who do not speak Japanese
・Others as deemed necessary by GCI
